Johannesburg Skies
by Jurie B Pieterse

Lord, I know,
who am I to criticise you:
But honestly
You should have put more stars in the sky
It would have looked much more impressive:
a star here and a star there,
You might as well have made no stars at all.

"Open your eyes, Jurie!
I have created the exact amount of stars,
even to the last one of all the millions.
Open your eyes!
They are all there,
you just don't see them.
Many people don't even realise they are there."

But I'm telling you Lord:
They might all be there,
but they aren't enough!

"No, I'm telling you:
You just can't see them all."

Then open my eyes Lord,
So I can see them all.

"There is nothing wrong with your eyes,
only with your vision.
Don't criticise me,
search for the problem somewhere else."

But if it isn't my eyes,
where is the problem?
Lord...?
Please answer me:
Then where is the problem?
Is the fault with me,
with us?

"Yes...
your eyes are opening at last..."

Yes, now I see it,
No, not the stars,
but the real problem...

Do YOU see the problem my friend?
