Time
Jurie Pieterse, November 1994
Time is a gift to all of us, but how we utilise our time
- that makes all the difference. Some of us have only a
few years on this planet while others have nearly a
century. Many people utilise their time so well that they
find a fulfilling life in but a few years. Others waste
time so much that they find life too short to even do
half of the things they wished to do.
I do not know how much time I am granted for this life,
however, I do intend to make use of every second.
Although I always have to run around to beat the clock, I
find the race against deadlines exciting and would never
exchange it for a life of laziness and total relaxation.
Carpe Diem means to grab every opportunity. I
will always do that, because opportunity does not come
knocking twice at the same door. Prisoner of time, of
myself? Perhaps. But I want to serve my Creator to the
best of my ability. He gave me many talents and to
utilise them means invariably that I shall have to use
time efficiently to make use of all my talents.
At the End of Time I want to be able to say:
"I utilised my time correctly."
